New Kingdom period: Circa 1300-1000 BC.
Condition: Very Fine, with light accretions to the face of the seal
Length 18 mms (0.7 ins).
Provenance: From a private collection, North Wales, collected by the previous owner's father from 1950's.
An Egyptian seal featuring the hieroglyphs for bee, nefer, and neb would likely carry a symbolic and meaningful message, which could be interpreted as 'The Beautiful Lord' or, in a more emphatic form, 'Lord, Beautiful Lord.' The exact meaning would depend on the context in which the seal was used, such as whether it was a royal seal, a religious artifact, or a personal amulet. Seals were often used to authenticate documents, mark property, or invoke divine protection, so the presence of these symbols would have conveyed a powerful and sacred message.
