An Egyptian pale blue faience funerary offering cup with matching lid. The cup is finely modelled and incised with two columns of clear hieroglyphic inscription which translate as: 'The Good God, Lord of the Two Lands, beloved of Sokar-Osiris'. The vessel stands on a flat flaring base.

 

Ramesside Period, 19th-20th Dynasty, 1293-1069 B.C.

 

Very Fine condition. Complete and intact.

Height 4.3 cms (1.7 ins)

 

Provenance: With B.M.S., Switzerland. Private collection, London, acquired from the above on the 14 September 1981.
