An elegant Etruscan bucchero kantharos with a carinated bowl and high arching strap handles, not quite identical, either side which extend above the lip of the cup. A flanged border between the body and the foot is decorated with a toothed ridge around the base.

Very Fine condition: A professional repair to both handles (as usually is the case).
Diameter across the top of the bowl 13 cms (5.1 ins).
Height to top of the handles 12 cms (4.7 ins).
Provenance: North German private collection, taken over by the mother from the grandfather's former collection. Acquired by him in the early 1980s in the North German art trade.
