A large 'spectacle' fibula. The fibula is finely patinated, with etched decoration around the central and outer spirals, each spiral terminating in tight coils and joining the two spirals.

Supplied with a purpose made metal stand.

 

Central European Bronze Age: Circa 11th-7th century BC.

 

Very fine condition: Good stable metal with rich green patina. A superb example.

Width 16.5 cms (6.5 ins)

 

Provenance: With Maurice Braham; With Nicholas Wright, acquired from the above in the 1980s; With Finch & Co, London; Acquired in 2016 from the above.
