An elegant and large Etruscan blackware glazed oinochoe. The vessel has a ridged handle, splaying into horns at the top of the wide trefoil mouth rim. The body has a simple band of vertical grooved decoration around the shoulders, a globular body, and stands on a splayed foot. The oinochoe has a wide trefoil mouth and single handle. The area just above the foot is reserved. An old collection label remains attached to the body.
Etruscan Italy: Late 6th century BC.
Condition: Complete and intact; a few minor bumps and scrapes.
Height 27.3 cms (10.7 ins).
