A professionally restrung necklace comprising six strands of Egyptian faience disc and tube beads, gathered towards each end in a circular clasp and continuing as a single string strand for fastening around the neck. The beads are generally a deep blue in colour and have been graded and matched to each other. The beads have been restrung with modern cord and fastener (the original binding has long since perished).
Late Period-Ptolemaic Period: Circa 664-30 BC.
Very Fine condition
Total length 56 cms (22 ins) including the fastener.
Provenance: S. Gabbay collection, Israel, brought to the UK circa 1975, and thence by descent to the present owner.
