A red-orange terracotta standing male figure vessel with spout type penis (purportedly for showing age progression, slowing the flow by filling with stones). The man has well modelled facial details, wears ear plugs and a decorated hat. The opening of the vessel lies at the top of the head.

 

Pre-Columbian Pihuamo, Jalisco, West Mexico: Proto-Classic Period: Circa 100 BC - 250 AD.

 

Condition: A small repair visible inside the opening at the top of the head, otherwise complete and intact, with strong fabric.

Height: 18.7 cms (7.3 ins)

 

Provenance: Collection of George and Julianne Alderman, Baltimore, MD. Acquired mid 1960's to mid-1990's.
