A symmetrical flint axe. Evidence of final edge trimming on all sides. The cutting edge shows some fine secondary pressure flakes.

 

Scandinavian mesolithic: Circa 9000-4500 BC.

 

Excellent condition.

Length: 8.6 cms (3.4 ins)

 

Provenance: Ex. collection Lawrence Sunde (1910-1979) Copenhagen; and formerly in the collection of the Christensen Fund. Other objects from the collection were sold at Christie's, London, 7 July 1993.
