Symmetrical flint axe with one face much more convex than the other. Large classic cutting edge showing some careful pressure flaking. The final pressure flake trimming of the side edges are on three of the four sides.

 

Scandinavian Mesolithic: Circa 9000-4500 BC.

 

Excellent condition.

Length 8.5 cms (3.3 ins)

 

Provenance: Ex. collection Lawrence Sunde (1910-1979) Copenhagen; and formerly in the collection of the Christensen Fund. Other objects from the collection were sold at Christie's, London, 7 July 1993.
